Application Enhancer unsupported by Apple

“It’s not a surprising policy, but it’s got to be a bit disappointing and also frustrating for developers, since they’re left on their own to fix bugs caused by someone else’s software. As a user, I’m always wary of things that mess with the operating system too much, and this news would certainly make me think twice about picking up FruitMenu. In the end, as popular as the Unsanity utilities are, I’m not sure how comfortable I am with the possibility of my third party apps not playing nicely with each other.”

My own personal policy is to not officially support systems hacked this way. It’s enough for a single developer to support users running on “clean” Mac systems. I don’t think it’s asking too much to expect things to work a certain way and to try but not be able to help if they don’t. Having to deal with issues introduced by unexpected interference by 3rd parties can just be too much of a complication, and yes, it can be VERY frustrating. That said, I’ll still always TRY to see if anything can be done on my end to resolve any problems users are having.
